Brett Clifford Gelman was born on October 6, 1976 (age 45 years) in Highland Park, Illinois, United States. His father was a photo salesman. He was raised Jewish and has a younger sister who is a speech pathologist. Gelman graduated from Highland Park High School. Brett Gelman moved to New York City with a fellow schoolmate, actor Jon Daly after college.
